Post update
I'm told 48 of the 156 players in the field are under par.
This - a par 70 - is a stiff test but they are standing up to it. Some gusts would make things really, really interesting.

I'm hearing our live text will begin at 0630 BST tomorrow morning.
We may well need to get to bed shortly...
'Fans are the best'
Fleetwood -3
Tommy Fleetwood speaks to Sky Sports after his round of -3 and when asked about playing in front of fans he says: "It's the best. I'm forever grateful for the support I get. It's the biggest crowd, or feels like, for a very long time and a lot were cheering me today. It felt great and hopefully I can give them something to cheer about."
Shine like a star...
Oosthuizen -6 Spieth -5
So who has shone?
Well Jordan Spieth got on a hot streak and duly ends the day a shot off the lead. You just know he has more majors in him...
Louis Oosthuizen seemed to have the wind under a magic spell on England's east coast and his reward is top spot. Asked what his experience in majors has shown him he simply replied: "There's a lot of golf left".
There is. Thank goodness.
Love bird watching?
Then check out this eagle...

Walker -1 (15) Smith -1 (18) Reed +2 (18)
Birdie-birdie-birdie for Jimmy Walker back on 15. He's now one under.
In Rory McIlroy's group Cameron Smith impressed me. The Australian ended the day one under. Patrick Reed battled away to end two over.
A mixed day where a handful have shone and many have scrapped.

The roar for Rory was equally as loud as the one that Tommy got a few minutes ago. The stand is only about a quarter full too. I'm trying to imagine how loud it's going to be come Sunday afternoon...
Your leader...
Oosthuizen -6 (18)
A big birdie...
McIlroy E (18)
Rory McIlroy, red zip up on (I'm colour blind so it may be green), he has 20ft or so, not much break, sends it, nice weight, nice line... ah that's just divine.
He ends the day level par and with a clenched fist there is hope. He has six shots to make up on Louis 'I rule the wind' Oosthuizen.
More on him next.

To Rory on 18...
Hit the stick...
Walker E (14)
Jimmy Walker - a major winner of course - is having some fun out there. He's gone birdie, birdie and has just hit the flag stick from the fairway on 15.
Someone get an ice pack because that man is sizzling!

McIlroy +1 (17)
Rory McIlroy, middle of the 18th fairway, probably deserves something good given how he's hustled... beautiful. Opens up a chance from around 15-20ft for birdie.
Level par would sound much nicer than one over.

We could hear the roar in the media tent for Tommy Fleetwood's birdie. We are about 30 yards behind the huge grandstand at the back of the green. Terrific sound to hear.
Tommy's clubhouse surge...
Fleetwood -3 (18) Scott +3 (18) Thomas +2 (18)
Oh Tommy, you diamond you.
He tickles home a right-to-left breaker on 18 to finish three under. A super round.
Adam Scott is in the cup for three over on the day. Justin Thomas has a short putt for a birdie... he needs this really after giving a few away... it drops does it... nope. Ouch. He'll not be happy when he hands that signed card over.
Tommy on the other hand will eat and sleep like a king.
Highlights show coming up
And as we get towards the end of play on day one, the BBC TV highlights show is just about to kick into action.
It starts at 20:00 BST for those of you reading this in the UK, so this is your official 10 minute warning... it's on tele, website, iplayer, you've basically got zero excuse not to watch.

Schauffele -1 MacIntyre +2 Fowler -1 (F)
Pars all round for this group on the 18th as Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele sign for one under par 69s.
Robert MacIntyre, a popular figure on the course whose birdie on the 16th was greeted by huge cheers, finishes on two over.
